Charles, for you, I'd recommend Cynthia Eden and Julia Quinn. Nothing against the others, I just think you'd like those two best.
Cynthia writes paranormals that manage to be funny, suspenseful, and sexy all at once. Julia's are more traditional, but she has a great sense of humor.
I recall you mentioning that you don't read too many humorous stories, but I think you'd like theirs. (Although Cynthia's are not as humorous as they are dark.)
