I just wanted to share this wonderful blog post for those of you who may not be familiar with Jon Zech.
I'll not tell you what it's about, but trust me, it's great. So is all of his writing, so while you're there, I encourage you to have a look around the archives.
Kate, thanks for sharing. My 95-year-old aunt died today, and this was perfect timing.
ReplyDeleteI did look at another blog of his blog, and Wow! An excellent writer! I'll go back and read more when I get a chance.
I'm sorry for your loss, Edie. I hope you and your family are ok.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed the blog. It made me think about my great-grandmother and other elderly people I knew when I was little, and it was rather amazing.
Jon is excellent. I loved his story, Lorna in Kinsasha. He's been ill for quite some time, so he doesn't post much, but when he does, it's always worthwhile.

Make that Lorna in Kinshasa. :)
ReplyDeleteKate, I loved it too! Great writer, and I'm so sorry to hear he's ill. So sad.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad, LD. He's not only very talented, he seems like a great guy too.

ReplyDeleteThanks to you Kate, and to everyone for stopping by. I hope to be posting a bit more now, and working on a novel I had to leave for a while. The chemo seemed to have burned out some creativity too, but I've kind of taken the attitude of the old guy in my most recent post, "The Night Before the Comet." If I work on it today and die tomorrow, so what? But if I don't work on it today and don't die tomorrow, I'll be a day behind.
ReplyDeleteYou're most welcome, Jon. I'm so sorry to hear about the chemo and all that goes with it, but...

Wow. You gave me much to think about there. Great attitude.
