I'm a Real Boy!

Well, maybe not. :)

But I'm finally starting to feel like a "real" writer. The editor/webmistress of Aphrodite's Apples sent out a request to their newest authors (Yolanda Sfetsos, Tyree Kimber and yours truly) to send in their bios and photos for their website. It's finally starting to sink in.

Now, when I actually see it in "print" - I'll really crow. :)

  1. Awww! I loved that movie--and story, growing up. I used to dance to the music all the time, when I was little, belting out "I got no strings!"

    Congratulations! You are real!

  2. Kate, you ARE a real writer! Very cool. And this is just the beginning. :)

  3. Thanks, ladies. It's great to be able to share with you, because there aren't that many people around me "in real life" who would understand. I'm bursting to tell people at work, but on the other hand, I don't think my colleagues need to know I write erotica on the side -- it would blow my quiet & reserved' image forever. :)

Ditto for my family. I'll save them for when my other stories are published. You know, the quiet and reserved ones your aunties can read. :)

  4. Kate, you might be surprised by what your aunt reads in the privacy of her home. *eg* But I know what you mean about sharing with other writers. Not even my sister understands how I feel about what I do. And she thinks I should be interested in her 2nd grade teaching life. *rolling eyes*

    BTW, love the Pinnochio image.

  6. Congratulations..it's nice to see something come to fruition. I get embarassed, and tend to hide my work from people, which is really a rotten way to market yourself. So I've heard.

  7. LOL, thanks, Stewart.

I understand what you mean about hiding. I've been going outside my comfort zone for the past year by joining writers' groups & blogs, putting up websites and even once posted a short story (which I quickly took down because I decided it was no good.) :)

It's hard to put yourself out there if you're introverted and a bit of a perfectionist. Unfortunately, though, it must be done.
